5.3.4

Build 17

Notes posted

iOS Hotfix: A Little Breathing Room

The Company can handle a crowded battlefield. Their buttons and battle reports deserve a little more space.

Build 17 is a focused hotfix for serious iPhone combat-interface issues reported after Build 16. It addresses overflowing text, crowded information, and cut-off action labels while preserving the familiar artwork and readable font sizes.

What’s Fixed

  • Battle reports fit their frames: phone combat results have a dedicated outcome row and calculation row. Long or numbered names keep their distinguishing number, and self-actions have room for their own label.
  • Initiative and supplies keep their distance: turn-order names wrap within their own space, clear of gold and provisions. Phones use the shorter PROV. label.
  • Action buttons keep their words: Continue remains complete, and longer skill names use two readable rows on phones. The phone spell button now reads SPELLS; tablets retain SPELLBOOK.

On narrower screens, result calculations may omit the repeated armor reference or use committed die totals to fit. Complete outcomes and consequences remain in combat history.

Your Company Carries On

This is a presentation hotfix. Gameplay rules, save formats, costs, rewards, and dice outcomes are unchanged, and existing Companies continue without a reset. Black Tundra remains a development preview.

Availability

5.3.4 (Build 17) is available to the existing internal TestFlight group. Internal testing availability was confirmed October 10. Fresh iPhone and iPad checks on physical devices remain pending, so feedback from this build is especially useful.

Looking Ahead to Build 18

We’re continuing to rework the iOS experience, with a major overhaul of the user interface planned for Build 18. That broader UI work is still in development.

What We’d Love You to Test

  • Fight in both landscape orientations: check hits, misses, healing, long or numbered names, self-actions, and crowded initiative lists. Look for clipped text or anything crossing a frame or the screen’s safe margins.
  • Try the buttons and compare screens: check complete captions, touch input, and controller input where available. Compare iPhone with iPad, including long reading pages and combat history.
  • Continue an existing Company: save and restore a fight, background and resume the app, and try 3D Dice both on and off. Results, settings, and rewards should stay consistent.

Please include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, installed build, location, and steps to reproduce any problem. Screenshots or short recordings help. Thank you for helping us give Oddwater a little more elbow room.
